In a video of the YouTube channel of ‘ASJUBI40’, Javier Rivas explains that he began to quote at age 14, although he began working at 10, in the year ’69, in a bakery wearing customer orders. “For those years, money was needed at home, where there were normally younger brothers, in my case only my father and older sister won and it was needed, since as you know he did not earn much.”
At 12, he changed his job and entered a drugstore, where he won “a little more”: “Contrary to today, because a 12 -year -old was among solvents, carbides and others.” And “so far my unofficial life, let’s say. I know it is similar to yours, at 12 and 14 you could work perfectly,” he added. Continuing with his working life, at age 14 he began working in a concession of car spare parts, where he already stayed his life.
“Even after 46 years quoted, I continue in the same company thanks to God,” he said then, even with the frustration of not being able to retire without any penalty. “When we start working, we began to build a bigger and better Spain. The penalty that gives me is that the human being usually forgets the most important thing, in this case they are forgetting those who pushed when you had not been born. Therefore, these 60 -year -old old men of now think that they were the ones who contributed to you had a better life,” he lamented.
He also expressed his frustration with the system: “Now political, I address you, do not forget. You are leaving us cornered and you are benefiting from it.” In his case, he explained that, if he advanced the retirement age at age 63, they penalized him with 13% in the “for life” pension. “What have I done wrong to deserve this? Work? Ah, yes, retire 2 years before age, when I would be quoted 49 years of my life,” I denounced.
“Letting young people who have a big, long and difficult future work, since we believe that we deserve to rest and dedicate ourselves to other things. Our currant period has already happened and I think we all approve with a notable, at least,” he said goodbye to his speech, advocating for the right of veteran workers to a well -deserved rest.
