It’s official: new aid of up to 1,100 euros for families with children who want to hire ‘babysitters’

The Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) has published the regulatory bases, amounts and requirements to be able collect help of up to 1,100 euros for families with children who need to reconcile. It is compatible with other aid “whatever its nature and whatever the administration or public or private entity that grants it” as long as the total sum of all aid does not exceed the real cost of the subsidized activity (in this case, the caregiver’s contract).

The objective of this aid that families with children whose parents are working or in a vulnerable situation may receive is facilitate family conciliation. The subsidy can reach 1,100 euros per month, depending on the hours worked and the contribution base, remaining for a maximum of one year.

The Government will give aid of up to 55 euros per hectare to farmers affected by the increase in costs

The Junta de Andalucía confirms aid of up to 24,000 euros to carry out work at home and rehabilitate the home

The application period for these conciliation aid will remain open until October 30, 2026 and is part of the regional plans to promote employment in the care sector, facilitating permanence in the work environment. Furthermore, it places special emphasis on the municipalities with fewer inhabitants since they generally have little access to resources.

The aid is for individuals who hire workers to care for children under 14 years of age or family members with a recognized disability equal to or greater than 33% at home.

How the money collected with this aid is calculated

The amount of aid, as it appears in the DOE (number 20 of January 20, 2026), is not the same in all cases and is calculated using a progressive scale based on salary and hours worked with sections starting from 222 euros per month reaching a maximum of 1,100 euros.

This amount may be increased by 30% in certain cases such as residence in towns with less than 5,000 inhabitants, hiring victims of gender violence or belonging to a single-parent family. The final limit may not exceed the established maximum.

The regional administration highlights that this measure aims, in addition to improving conciliation, to boost employment in a sector in which there is a lot of precariousness. But also, attract unemployed people or people who are in a vulnerable situation to activities linked to care.

Requirements to access aid for families

Among the required conditions, people who request this help must be of legal age, reside in Extremadura and live with the minor or dependent family member for whose care the contract is formalized. Both the applicant and his cohabiting partner must carry out a paid work activity.

They must appear as the owner of the family home in the Social Security of the person hired and must not be suspended from the contract due to the birth and care of the minor. Those people who have been deprived of parental authority or those who are prohibited from accessing public subsidies are excluded.

How to request it

Applications will have to be submitted from January 21, 2026 to October 30 of that same year through the channels enabled by the regional administration. The Board will collect part of the documentation ex officio, such as the work history report or the certificate of cohabitation unless the interested party objects.

You must provide the employment contract, the Social Security registration of the person hired, the family book or equivalent documentation, as well as certificates that prove specific situations such as vulnerability or disability.
