It’s now official: aid of between 5,000 and 25,000 euros for farmers affected by bad weather

The Government has activated a new line of extraordinary aid to compensate for the economic losses suffered by agricultural holdings due to bad weather, especially after the recent storms, storms and floods that occurred between the month of January and the beginning of March. Farmers will no longer fear new warnings from the AEMET due to bad weather that could ruin their crops.

This aid is aimed at both farmers and ranchers who have seen their income reduced due to the damage caused by these meteorological phenomena, which have affected some autonomous communities with special intensity. Thus, this response plan is included in article 9 of the Royal Decree-Law 5/2026, of February 17which includes all the urgent measures adopted for the damage caused by various adverse meteorological phenomena, especially in the autonomous communities of Andalusia and Extremadura.

From 5,000 to 25,000 euros in aid

The amount of aid may vary depending on each case, but is between a minimum of 5,000 euros and a maximum of 25,000 euros per beneficiary, which makes it possible to cover a significant part of the losses suffered.

The amount is calculated taking into account the declared agricultural income, and can reach up to 30% of the same, always within the limits established by European regulations.

As with other aid in the agricultural sector, this is also granted ex officio. The Ministry publishes lists of beneficiaries and it is these who must accept the aid within the established period through the FEGA electronic headquarters.
