The City Council of Alicante has given green light to a new benefit, an economic aid for families that have children. On this occasion, it is a ‘baby check’ of 300 euros that will be paid to all the families that are registered in the town and have sons or daughters in 2025. They must also meet a series of requirements among which a minimum of rent does not appear, that is, that there is no limit to be able to collect it.
This benefit to help the raising of children covering some of their basic needs has an initial endowment of 100,000 euros and is included in the municipal budgets of Alicante. It is estimated that around 300 families will request it and in case the money is short, they can increase it without launching a new call, as confirmed by the Consistory on its website.

In cases of nullity, separation or divorce, the beneficiary of the benefit will be the father or mother whose custody the children have been left and when there is shared custody, 50% will be distributed among the parents.
The application deadline is 6 months from the day following the birth of the baby, and in the case of the previous births, the period of 6 months to request it will be counted from the date of publication of the call (May 2025).
Although it exceeds 100 euros more, this help is similar to what can be requested in Castilla y León, which in this case is 200 euros and is called ‘Children’s Bonus‘. It can be charged when children are between 4 and 12 years old.
