How much does electronic commerce bill in the world?
E-commerce has become essential in global retail. Digitalization and massive access to the Internet—with more than five billion users—have driven a boom in online shopping, which today benefits consumers around the world.
According to estimates from Statista Market Insights, it does not appear that the volume of online retail purchases will slow down in the near future. In fact, everything indicates that this market will record increasing numbers year after year. Thus, from 2025 to 2030, income from digital commerce to final consumers will go from nearly 3.6 billion dollars in 2025 to more than 4.9 billion dollars in 2030.
The segment with the highest turnover in this period will be food and beverages, closely followed by fashion, both with more than $900 billion in estimated revenue by 2025. Added to this are categories such as electronics and personal care, which also show positive evolution and will contribute significantly to the sustained growth of electronic commerce around the world.
