Polish companies appreciate new technologies

Generative Artificial Intelligence in Polish Companies

More than 80 percent of surveyed financial directors in Poland already recognize the importance of AI in the context of business strategy,

Every fourth company in Poland and Central Europe uses GenAI in its operations, i.e. generative artificial intelligence designed to create new content – according to a report by Deloitte Central Europe. Financial directors also appreciate the importance of AI in running a business.

GenAI can be used, for example, to create text using algorithms using self-learning. Deloitte’s study showed that according to respondents, the biggest challenges in the process of adapting new technology are issues related to data quality and IT infrastructure, as well as the availability of qualified staff.

The report “CE CFO Survey – Getting ready for the GenAI journey?” also showed that 83% of surveyed CFOs in Poland see the importance of AI in the context of business strategy, which is the highest result in the region, next to Romania. In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, this view is shared by every second respondent. On the other hand, 20% of Czech and Slovak CFOs indicated that in their companies, implementing new AI solutions has already become part of the business strategy, while in Poland this percentage was 8%. The most supporters of using AI for innovation in the area of new products and services come from Romania (42%) and the Czech Republic (40%). In Poland, such use of new tools was mentioned by every third respondent. Polish respondents also see the possibility of using new technology in customer service to a lesser extent – 17%, compared to the average of 34% for the region.

The financial sector is the most willing to invest in AI development, with every second entity planning to spend more than 1% of its budget on this. In the case of technology, media and telecommunications companies, 38% of enterprises plan such an investment, and in companies offering business and professional services, the figure is 37%. The least willing to invest in AI are industrial companies (24%) and pharmaceutical companies (20%).

According to Piotr Mechliński from Deloitte, generative artificial intelligence is the future and a factor that will reduce the costs of running companies and change their functioning, just as the Internet did.

Organizations should analyze their processes and develop new methods of operation to ensure a competitive advantage from the use of generative AI while effectively managing risks.
