Putting an alarm poster, video surveillance or private security in the house without having it hired, is a practice that is increasingly common for the Uncomfortable presence of the Okupas. Now, what could seem like a simple performance to avoid undessed tenants, can carry fines of up to 600 euros per day, since it is regulated in the Law 5/2014 of private security. Not knowing the legal text does not mean that you do not have to fulfill it and this lie can cost a lot of money to the offender.
In case of being denounced by the data protection agency, the owners of the house that have placed the sticker or plaque without having contracted the services, could pay up to 600 euros. Penalty of 600 euros a day, more possible damages
The affected company, which appears on the ‘false’ plate could denounce the owners of the house that has placed the sticker for damages. In this way, when a sticker, plate, or any other badge is used with the name of a private security company with the aim of deterring thieves or the squatters, the sanction could exceed 600 euros per day.
This would be given in the event that the person does not have the authorization of the company, since there are several assumptions in which this practice is not punishable.
For example, when a plaque is placed in which the presence of video surveillance or safety cameras is notified, but in the same the name of any company does not appear. In this case, as the law says nothing, it would be allowed. Only when the name of a specialized company is placed, an infraction would be committed.
