The price of light in Spain for this Sunday, October 5, 2025, will be located at 24.31 euros per megavatio hour (MWh). This represents a 54.2% collapse compared to the cost of Saturday electricity, when the average price was 53.10 euros/MWh. In addition, it becomes the lowest registered value so far in October, according to the data published by the Iberian energy market operator (OMIE).
Compared to the same dates of last year, savings is also considerable. Then, the average price reached 60.40 euros/MWh, which means that 36.09 euros are currently paid. It should be remembered that this figure corresponds to the wholesale market, so it does not include taxes, tolls or electrical system charges. To know the definitive price that consumers will pay, which does incorporate these costs, we will have to wait for it to be published by Red Electrica de España at the close of the day.

When is light cheaper this Sunday?
The cheapest hours of light will be concentrated at noon, between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., when the price will be negative and will mark the -2.45 euros/MWh at 2:00 p.m. (eye, you don’t mean it is free, as we explain above). If we expand the section, the cheapest stripes will occur between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with prices that move from -2.45 euros/MWh to 5.27 euros/MWh, which makes this time the best time to put washing machines, dishwasher or load the electric car.
When is electricity more expensive?
On the contrary, the highest price will be recorded at night, between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., when it will reach 83.13 euros/MWh. The section will follow from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with 70.34 euros/MWh, and just after 22:00 to 23:00 hours, with 60.49 euros/MWh.
