If it already happened with bank cards, with tickets to a concert or even with the driving license, which for some time now can be carried digitally on the mobile phone through applications such as Google Wallet, then with the Youth Card of the Community of Madrid it was not going to be any different. From now on, users of the Youth Card of the Community of Madrid will be able to carry it on their Android mobile phone through the Google Wallet app.

As already happened with the Madrid red transport card, the Youth Card of this autonomous community can be ‘said’ in a certain way from its physical version thanks to the novelty of being able to carry it in the Google wallet app. In fact, the Community of Madrid is undoubtedly one of those that has opted the most for this type of digital format for its official documents, incorporating several of the cards into the application.

The Community of Madrid will take another step towards digitalization by incorporating the Youth Card into Google Wallet. This will allow users to carry it on their mobile phone and use it without having to carry the physical card, maintaining all its functionalities.

The Youth Card is digitized and reaches the mobile

The digital version of the Youth Card will include the same information as the traditional card: name and surname, date of birth, expiration date and identification number. In this way, there will be no differences in its validity or the associated benefits.

Furthermore, one of the most practical elements will be the incorporation of a QR code, which can be easily scanned by establishments and services. This will allow the user’s data to be verified quickly, avoiding having to show the physical card at any time.

To apply for the Youth Card, the only requirement is to be between 14 and 30 years old and reside in the Community of Madrid. It can be processed through the Digital Account platform or at any of the 75 issuing points enabled in the region.

Currently, more than 744,000 people already have this card, which offers discounts in nearly 2,000 establishments related to training, transport, leisure, culture or restaurants. In total, more than 1,000 collaborating companies and entities participate.

The Community of Madrid highlights this initiative as an advance in the modernization of public services and a commitment to the use of safe and efficient technologies at the service of citizens.
