The Social Tourism Program of Imserso (Institute for Seniors and Social Services) presented two new features for this new season. The first of them was a Reduced flat rate of 50 euros for the lowest pensions and the second, the possibility of traveling accompanied by pets.
Now, Imserso is sending letters to the possible beneficiaries of this discount since there are places left unfilled and it is a unique opportunity to tour Spain at an almost ridiculous price. Who can request the flat rate of 50 euros to travel with Imserso
The beneficiaries of the flat rate of 50 euros that Imserso has implemented this season must meet a series of requirements. The first of them is that a low pension be collected, so that there is a reserve of 7,447 places for those who have a benefit equal to or less than the amount of non-contributory disability or retirement pensions from Social Security.
These will be those who can pay only 50 euros per trip “regardless of the destination or type” and it will be Imserso who will pay the remaining cost until reaching the price. The objective is to “expand the right to active aging through these trips without people with lower income being excluded.”
Extraordinary deadline to submit applications
On December 9, Imserso opened a new (extraordinary) deadline to sign up for the Social Tourism Program trips. This ends on April 30, so you will have to hurry to choose the destination and fill out the application.
The trips include two types of accommodation: full board and half board, which is what can be found on trips to provincial capitals. Also included, if selected, is transportation to and from the destination from the capital where the user resides to the destination hotel.
