This year, almost every fourth company from the small and medium-sized enterprise sector in Poland will choose leasing to co-finance its operations.
In 2024, the most popular external form of financing for SMEs will be leasing, according to the Kaczmarski Group study “2024 from the perspective of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises”. This form of financing was indicated by 24% of respondents.
Second place in the survey was taken by purchases in installments with 18 percent of indications, and third by loans – 16 percent. Entrepreneurs are also interested in factoring and the rental of machines, equipment and vehicles, which may be chosen by 13 percent of companies.
When it comes to leasing, companies from the construction and manufacturing sectors decide to use it most often (34 percent each). Analysts from Kaczmarski Group indicated that the results of the study are not surprising, because according to the latest data from the Polish Leasing Association, our country is the fifth largest leasing market in Europe and over the last 10 years it has also been the fastest growing in the European Union. It is worth noting, however, that the smallest entrepreneurs are increasingly deciding on long-term rental, and the growth dynamics of this market in Poland has been continuously stable for years at around 9 percent.
The choice of external financing depends on the size of the company, the specifics of the industry and the length of its existence on the market. Sole proprietorships are mainly interested in installment purchases, medium-sized and long-standing companies prefer bank loans, and companies prefer leasing.
