Charo (79 years) responds to those who criticize her receivable 2,300 euros of pension: “What I ask is to live a worthy present, I have worked for that”

A week ago, the testimony of Charo López, A 79 -year -old pensioner who was not happy with the amount that had been charging. This woman is a beneficiary, on the one hand, of the retirement pension, for which she charges almost 900 euros, and on the other, of a widowhood pension, which amounts to 1,400 euros. Thus, it charges around 2,300 euros per month.

The controversy occurred because for Charo it is not a good compensation, denouncing that her husband “quoted her entire work life to collect a salary” and she already paid “52% of that salary.” “48% I don’t know who stays with him. If he were alive now, he would continue to charge his full salary. Why don’t I? And not only that, but from my pension, 200 euros have been reduced to arrive a stop that I don’t know what that stop is,” I protested this pensioner.

In his line, he asked what who could live in Spain with 1,200 euros, when it is the salary of many young people and the pension that has been left to many pensioners. Given this, Charo claimed that with an amount you can “live”, but not live with dignity. Now, he has reappeared on television, in the ‘Public Mirror’ program, to respond to all the criticisms he has received.

“I have put my image to defend a very vulnerable group”

In this new television appearance, Charo says that he is not “the Doris Day or the Marilyn Monroe” but that “I have put my image to defend a very vulnerable collective.” And, in fact, it was very clear with his position: “Young people have a future, but I have no future, only present. And what I ask is to live a dignified present, which I have worked for that.”

In the same program, leaving two young people explaining the precarious situation in which they are, explaining that they are not against the rise in pensions, but that they should climb the same as wages, something with which Charo herself agrees.

“What you can not be is to make a generational confrontation. I protect these people (in reference to young people) because it is the future of this country, it has to have a worthy salary,” he clarified. Of course, he added a question: “If when you are going to do you tell you ‘we are going to pay you 40% of what you have quoted’, do not tell me that you applaud”, again defending how a week ago that 100% of the quoted should be charged.

“I can’t be thinking about whether winter arrives and I can light the heating or not”

Returning to the amount of pensions, Charo claimed that she “I cannot be thinking about whether winter arrives and I can light the heating or not”, while they broke up all their expenses: 300 euros of supplies, 110 euros in the community, about 1,000 euros in food, cleaning products, cleaning …, and another 100 euros in clothing, accessories and other expenses.

Thus, he claims to have expenses of 1,510 euros, and that owns his home and does not have to pay or mortgage or rent. If it weren’t for this condition, he said it would be impossible to reach the end of the month.
