Ana Marina (23), cleaner, does not cut over her salary: “I charge more cleaning houses in Switzerland than an engineer in Spain”

There are many young people who decide to emigrate from Spain to other countries in Europe in search of new job opportunities as well as better conditions, although the standard of living is also more expensive. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Labor, in Switzerland there are 136,225 Spaniards, so this European country becomes one of the preferred options. This is said by Ana Marina Lasso, a young woman who works as a cleaner in Switzerland and explains what her salary is.

The young woman explains in a video posted on the social network Tiktok what she earns in a low qualification position and compares it to a high qualification in Spain. “I charge more cleaning houses in Switzerland than an engineer in Spain,” he says.

Ana Marina explains that to work in the cleaning sector in Switzerland it is not necessary to have experience or know the native (Swiss) language, since they are positions that do not require qualification. “Cleaning, together with the hospitality or construction, is one of those unqualified works that we do at some point the people who come to work in Switzerland without knowing German,” he says.

Now, he clarifies that within his profession there are several ways of working, each of them well limited and defined. “I would like to clarify that there are several types of cleaning work” and continues to say, “from factory cleaning, store cleaning and cleaning in private houses, which is the one I personally tried and most like it,” he details. The young woman recognizes that she has only tried one of them and not the rest, since she feels happy with the work she currently does.

“Gano 120 euros for four hours of work”

One of the things he likes is that he can do it while listening to music or a podcast. “It seems to me a chill job because, basically, I wear my podcast, my little musician and I put here to clean a beautiful house, such as all houses in Switzerland.”

But the good is not that, precisely and yes, the salary I perceive for working by cleaning houses. He explains that he charges for service, that is, for every house that cleanses, which according to the hours he does, explains what can be won.

“For every hour I work, I charge 28 francs. In this case, for example, I have cleaned this house for four hours and have paid me 112 francs,” he explains, that the change is just under 120 euros.

This salary can collide a lot and even more if we compare it with the salaries in Spain, especially if compared to those professions in which university training is required. Now, it must be clarified that as well as the salary is higher, so is the standard of living, so as other workers point out, it is necessary to work many hours to save.

It ends saying “Do you think?

With this video, Ana Marina wants to show how the working life is to work in Switzerland when there is no high qualification or languages, where they still offer high salaries. Now, as other workers explain, not everything is so simple, it is already difficult to find work and more when there is no knowledge of the language. Even so, you can get and have a quiet life with stable salary.
