Saving is the great challenge for most Spaniards, who see how their dreams sink into work precariousness. If saving is a utopia, getting to the end of the month also complicates any hope of a better situation. 43% of them have worked without contract and one in three is at risk of poverty or social exclusion. It is not surprising that many consider the search for opportunities in other European countries.
This is the case of a Spanish physiotherapist who lives in Switzerland and from the @Firststepswiss account, which accumulates more than 21,000 thousand followers in Tiktok, advises health professionals in their first steps to work in one of the countries with the highest salaries in Europe.
The boy, under 25, explains the money he saves in a year working in the alpine country, break -in his monthly expenses so that we have an idea of what he means living there.
How much you will spend a month
The boy says: “At home I pay 800 francs.” It is the monthly amount that pays on a floor shared with other people. “In food I spend about 300 francs,” he adds, which is equivalent to about 321 euros in Spain.
“In health insurance I pay about 175 because I am less than 25,” he details. In Switzerland there is no free public health system, therefore, all workers are obliged to hire private health insurance.
In transport and other expenses, he points out that “about 100 francs, leisure, 400, flights about 2,000 a year and various expenses. For incidents, fines … we have put an amount of 3,000 francs.” According to him, these expenses are a total of 26,300 total francs in 12 months.
His savings would give for the entrance of an apartment in Spain
“My salary, I know that many of you are not going to believe it, I will leave you here. A year, you pay without counting the bonds, it would be about 65,000 francs.” On average, a sanitary physiotherapist charges 69,532.84 euros per year, just over 5,384 euros per month.
To that total you have to subtract the total expenses, as the young man points out. “If you subtract total expenses, an annual savings of 38,700 francs come out”, which would be about 41,398.78 euros, just the amount that a young man in Spain needs for the entrance of a home.
