A woman who had been working her entire life, specifically since she was 14, was forced to retire with only 28 years of contributions because she had spent a large number of years without being registered with Social Security. Hence, he now only has a pension of 800 euros, even if he stopped working at the age of 65. “They told me I had already worked enough,” he laments, although he insists that he would work again if necessary.

Antonia Velázquez is one of those cases that would have liked to remain active, but regulations forced her to retire when she turned 65. “They tell me that I have to retire at 65 years and 7 months, but I tell them that I could continue working and they say no,” he recalls. Despite his extensive work history, he only contributed for 28 years and that conditioned his pension, as he said in the Antena 3 program ‘And now Sonsoles’.

The woman confesses that the economic situation and personal emptiness have made her rethink her life. And he has had a very low pension “not because I have not worked, but because they did not have me insured, not in that company, but in other places.”

Furthermore, Antonia remembers that she did not have vacations until she was very old: “I haven’t stopped since I was 14 and I didn’t have my first vacation until I was 43,” she confesses.

Her work history is long enough to be able to enjoy a more dignified retired life than what she really has left, since Antonia Velázquez has worked “in a hairdresser, in a nursing home, I have worked in houses…”.
