The average price of fuel in Spain continues at exorbitant levels as a result of the escalation of the war in Iran, which mainly affects gas and oil. The average price of a liter of gasoline rises to 1.709 euros, increasing by 6.81% compared to the previous week. For its part, the average price of a liter of diesel rises to 1.837 euros, which means paying 11.67% more.
These data, published in the Petroleum Bulletin of the European Union (EU), confirm the upward trend in the price of gasoline and diesel in recent days, since the conflict between the United States and the countries of the Middle East began.
In this way, the increases in fuel prices have continued for a ninth consecutive week, to which is also added that the price of diesel is above that of gasoline. As a result of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, in addition to the multiple attacks on the main fuel distributors, the price of a barrel of Brent now reaches 110 dollars (approximately 95.93 euros).
Filling a tank of gasoline now costs 93.99 euros
The average price of gasoline (super 95) rises to 1,709 euros per liter. With this increase of 6.81% compared to the previous week, when it cost 1,600 euros per liter, filling an average 55-liter tank of gasoline costs 93.99 euros.
The cheapest station to refuel with gasoline in Spain is the GALP, located on the N-240 highway, km 100, in Basses d’Alpicat (Lleida), where the price is €1,304/L. The second cheapest is the GALP&Go in Roquetes (Tarragona), located in the La Ravaleta industrial estate, plot 1, with a price of 1,329 euros/L.
The average price varies depending on the province or service station where you refuel, so it is recommended to consult the electronic headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, in the section “fuel prices at Spanish gas stations”, the price at which fuels are sold each day at each gas station in Spain.
Filling the diesel tank costs 101.04 euros
The average price of diesel (diesel A) this week reaches 1.837 euros per liter, so filling an average 55-liter tank of diesel costs approximately 101.04 euros, increasing by 11.67% compared to the previous week.
The cheapest gas station to refuel with diesel this week is the UTE Estación de Murcia, for 1,019 euros per liter, located on Bolos street number 4, in Murcia capital. The next cheapest option to refuel is at the Cartagena Bus Station, on Trovero Marín Avenue, 3, where the price is 1,075 euros per liter, in Cartagena (Murcia).

Difference between fuels from Spain and Europe
Despite the significant increases in all countries, Spain maintains its position as one of the countries with the cheapest fuels compared to the European average. In the case of gasoline, a liter costs an average of 1,837 euros in the European Union, while diesel costs 1,949 euros.
In the eurozone, the average prices are as follows: gasoline has an average price of 1,893 euros and diesel, 1,982 euros.
How the conflict in the Middle East affects the price of gasoline and diesel
The escalation of the conflict in the Middle East continues to strain energy markets, especially following attacks on key infrastructure and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the main global oil routes. This has boosted the price of crude oil, which already exceeds $110 per barrel, amid fears of a prolonged supply cut. This increase ends up being passed on to the cost of fuel in importing countries like Spain.
To contain the impact, the Government of Spain has approved the release of up to 11.5 million barrels of oil from strategic reserves, within an internationally coordinated plan to stabilize prices. Even so, when oil becomes more expensive, gas stations progressively adjust their prices, which translates into greater expenses for drivers. For this reason, conflicts in energy-producing areas usually cause increases in gasoline and diesel prices, directly affecting consumers’ pockets.
