The average price of electricity on this Sunday, March 8, 2026, rises significantly to 135.29 euros/MWh for consumers with a regulated or indexed rate in the free market, according to data published by Red Eléctrica. With this increase, electricity is paid 14.55% more expensive, that is, about 17.18 euros more than on Saturday, March 7, when its price was 118.11 euros/MWh.

It should be noted that the prices that appear here belong to the Voluntary Price for Small Consumers (PVPC) and this means that they are different from those published by the Iberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE), which reflect the price in the wholesale market and they are usually lower because it does not include concepts such as taxes and tolls.

When is electricity cheaper this Sunday?

The cheapest hour will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., with a price of 46.32 euros/MWh. The next section in which electricity will have a lower cost will be between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., with a price of €51.95/MWh.
