The price of electricity today, Thursday, March 5, 2026: the cheapest and most expensive hours within the PVPC

The average price of electricity this Thursday, March 5, 2026, continues to rise and this day stands at 174.75 euros/MWh for consumers with a regulated or indexed rate in the free market, as can be seen from Red Eléctrica data. This represents an increase of 11.73% and, therefore, electricity is paid 18.35 euros more than the Wednesday, March 4, when its price was 156.40 euros/MWh.

It should be noted that the prices that appear here belong to the Voluntary Price for Small Consumers (PVPC) and this means that they are different from those published by the Operator of the Iberian Energy Market (OMIE)which reflect the price in the wholesale market and are usually lower because it does not include concepts such as taxes and tolls.

When is electricity cheaper this Thursday?

The cheapest hour will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with a price of 94.33 euros/MWh. Another time slot that can be used at a cheaper price during the day is from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., because the rest will accumulate in the early morning until 6:00 a.m. in the morning.

When is electricity most expensive this Thursday?

The highest price at which electricity will be paid will be 328.88 euros per megawatt per hour, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
