The Provincial Court of Zaragoza has confirmed the conviction of a woman for a minor crime of fraud after receiving 50 euros through Bizum from a false job offer advertised on TikTok, which consisted of giving ‘likes’ and rating El Corte Inglés products in exchange for money. The convicted person, who acted as an intermediary receiving transfers and sending them to other accounts in exchange for a commission, must pay a fine of 180 euros and compensate the victim with another 50 euros. The court considers that, although it has not been proven that she was mainly responsible for the scam, her participation was essential to carry it out.
In September 2025, the victim accessed a Telegram group after seeing an advertisement on TikTok where he was offered a job consisting of liking and rating El Corte Inglés products in exchange for money. After receiving initial payments of 6 euros for giving likes, the group administrators told him that he should invest money in the platform to “level up.”
Thus, he made a first transfer through Bizum of 50 euros to the number of the now convicted woman, and a second transfer of 130 euros to another number. When he realized that it was a scam, he went to court.
The case goes to court
In the first instance, the Court of Instance of Zaragoza convicted the woman of a minor crime of fraud, imposing a fine of 180 euros and forcing her to compensate the victim with another 50 euros. Not satisfied with this decision, he appealed to the Provincial Court of Zaragoza, alleging that he was unaware of the illicit origin of the money and that he was only acting as an intermediary in exchange for a commission.
He also requested that the fine be reduced since his income was unknown.
The Provincial Court of Zaragoza confirms the fine and compensation
The Court considered that there was sufficient evidence to maintain the conviction, taking into account both the victim’s statement and the supporting documents for the payments made by Bizum. These documents proved that the 50 euros of the scam had been sent to a telephone number owned by the convicted woman.
Although she did not appear at the trial and alleged in a document that she was also deceived, she acknowledged having received and moved the money in exchange for a commission, without having reported any identity theft.
For this reason, the magistrates highlighted that their collaboration was essential for the plot to work, providing the necessary means for its execution. For all these reasons, they concluded that either he knew the illicit nature of the operation in which he participated, or he acted with deliberate ignorance by not wanting to know the nature of the act he was carrying out, which is why they rejected his allegations.
