The price of tobacco changes this Saturday in all tobacconists: up to 13 brands affected

The price of tobacco changes again this Saturday, May 23, 2023 in the tobacconists of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands. According to the Official State Gazette (BOE) published by the Ministry of Finance the new cost of certain tobacco products in the Tobacco and Stamp Stores in the Monopoly area.

Through the Resolution of May 22, 2026, of the Presidency of the Commissioner for the Tobacco Market, the new public sale prices (RPP) are published, including the different taxes, which have been proposed by the corresponding manufacturers and importers. You should know that this update comes into force on the same day as its publication in the BOE, that is, this Saturday. Now, this does not mean that all products go up or that it affects all brands, but only the references included in the official resolution.

New price of tobacco from May 23

Starting this Saturday, May 23, 2026, the modifications in the retail price (RRP) for the different affected tobacco brands, taking into account the different taxes in the Tobacco and Stamp Stores of the Peninsula and Balearic Islands, are as follows:

What are the most expensive brands

Among the most expensive products in the new list published in the BOE, Plasencia Year of the Horse (10) stands out, which reaches 69.00 euros per unit. The Padrón brand cigars also stand out, especially Padron 1926 80th Maduro (8) and Padron 1926 80th Natural (8), both with a price of 42.00 euros per unit.

Within the same brand there are also high prices such as Padron Family Res. 45 Maduro (10) and Padron Family Res. 45 Natural (10), which cost 36.00 euros per unit, as well as Padron N.º 9 Maduro 1926 (10) and Padron N.º 9 Natural 1926 (10), with a RRP of 32.70 euros per unit.

At the opposite extreme are some of the cheapest references, such as the Darkside pipe bites in 30 gram format, all of them with a price of 2.00 euros per unit. In Ceuta and Melilla, packages of Monte Negro Corsarios y Piratas cost 2.70 euros/package.
