It’s official: aid of up to 5,500 euros to buy a car in 2026 with the new Auto 2030 Plan

The Government has launched the new Auto Plan 2030, an aid system that seeks to facilitate the purchase of vehicles in Spain and modernize the vehicle fleet. This new program replaces previous plans and comes with an important novelty: the aid is applied directly at the time of purchase, avoiding long waits and procedures. This new program, which also includes the so-called Auto+ Planreplaces the old MOVES III Plan that also provided aid to those buyers of vehicles, especially electric vehicles.

This is a measure that combines public subsidies with mandatory discounts from dealers, which significantly reduces the final price of the vehicle for the buyer.

The Xunta de Galicia confirms that families with one child and up to 68,000 euros in income will be able to access protected housing

The Government will give aid of up to 55 euros per hectare to farmers affected by the increase in costs

The Auto 2030 Plan includes another axis of aid called ‘New Moves Corridors’, which seeks to increase public charging points on roads where there are still a small number of these and thus prevent drivers from having problems because they do not reach their destination due to autonomy.

How much you can really save when buying a car

The total savings can reach 5,500 euros, adding two key elements. On the one hand, the Government offers aid of up to 4,500 euros per vehicle when it is a passenger car, and on the other, dealers must apply a minimum discount of an additional 1,000 euros on the final invoice.

Now, not all buyers will receive the maximum amount. The final amount will depend on factors such as the type of car, its price or the place of manufacture. The more the vehicle meets the established criteria, that is, it is an electric, efficient or manufactured in Europe vehicle, the greater the help will be.

The amounts of the Auto+ Plan have some more variants, since if the vehicle you intend to buy is not a passenger car, the amount also changes. In the case of N1 vans with a maximum mass of 3,500 kg, the aid may be 5,000 euros instead of 4,500. For vehicles of type L3e, L4e and L5e (electric motorcycles), the amount can be 1,100 euros, while for L6e and L7e (electric quadricycles), the aid can reach 1,500 euros.

How this new aid system works

The Auto 2030 Plan introduces a more agile model than previous programs. The aid is managed centrally by the Government and is discounted directly at the time of purchase, eliminating the uncertainty of having to wait months to collect it.

In addition, the plan has a significant financial endowment, with hundreds of millions of euros destined to encourage the acquisition of vehicles and strengthen the automobile sector in Spain.

Who can benefit

Both individuals and companies will be able to access it, although with limits. In the case of citizens, the aid is designed for the purchase of a single vehicle, while companies can request it for several.

The car must also meet certain requirements, such as not exceeding a maximum price in certain categories and having characteristics that make it eligible within the program.
