With the latest news on the Middle East war that directly affects the oil pricedrivers have been finding higher prices at gas stations around the world for several weeks. But Spain continues to resist these increases and the truth is that the price of gasoline and diesel continues to fall. One of the main reasons is the VAT reduction and the hydrocarbon tax approved by the Government.

With this price, filling the car’s 55-liter tank with gasoline costs 85,415 euros, while if it is diesel you will have to pay 99,715 euros.

The price of gasoline in Spain remains below the European average
Although filling the tank is now cheaper than it was a few weeks ago, it is still a very high cost for families. This week, Spain maintains a lower average price than the rest of the European Union (EU).
In the EU the average is 1,879 euros for gasoline and in the euro zone it is 1,949 euros, while in the case of diesel it is paid at 2,144 euros in the EU and 2,159 euros per liter in the euro zone.
The answer to this difference is found in lower taxes and a more economical logistics and transportation system than in other countries. Despite this, when it comes to making ends meet, the cost of fuel continues to weigh heavily, so it is essential to compare prices before going to the service station.
