Some communities in Spain have launched an economic incentive that can mean a turning point for many self-employed workers. The Junta de Andalucía, through the Resolution of March 20, 2026, has made official the launch of Line 1 of the Emplea-T program, an ambitious strategy aimed at consolidating businesses that have survived their initial stages and that now seek to scale their productive structure through indefinite hiring.

This aid, which can reach 18,000 euros, aims to mitigate the financial risk that self-employed workers assume when formalizing their first employment contract. The program not only seeks the growth of the business fabric, but also focuses on the insertion of groups with greater difficulties in accessing the labor market.

Beneficiary profile and requirements

To access these subsidies, self-employed or mutual members must comply with a fundamental premise: that it is their first ordinary indefinite contract. The regulations are strict in this regard, excluding those who have had hired personnel in the 12 months prior to their application.

The measure is designed to encourage hiring of three key demographic groups:

  • Young people under 30 years of age.
  • Long-term unemployed people, regardless of their age.
  • Over 45 years old.

Furthermore, to ensure that the aid translates into real stability and not financial relief for a few months, the regulations require a minimum maintenance of the contract of 24 months.

The day may be full or partial (as long as it is equal to or greater than 50%), and the contract must have been formalized between January 1 and June 30, 2026.

Additional amounts and bonuses by gender: €2,000 more for being a woman

From an economic psychology perspective, the Emplea-T Program includes variable incentives. The base amount for a full-time contract is 18,000 euros, while for part-time contracts it is set at 9,000 euros.

However, the program introduces a reinforcement clause to combat the gender gap: if the person hired is a woman, the subsidy increases by an additional 2,000 euros for full-time work and 1,000 euros for part-time work, raising the total maximum to be received by the self-employed person to 20,000 euros.

Exclusions and shielding of the program

The legislator has established safeguards to prevent misuse of public funds. That is why hiring of family members (up to the second degree of consanguinity), those carried out by temporary employment companies and those formalized under the modality of discontinuous permanent employment are excluded.

Likewise, the incentive is prohibited for people who have had an indefinite employment relationship with the same employer or group of companies in the previous six months. With these limitations, the Andalusian administration seeks to ensure that the capital injected generates a net increase in employability and not a mere replacement of contracts or a benefit due to kinship relations.
