How does Ikea preowned work?
The platform aims connect buyers and sellers of second-hand furniture and Ikea products. This service offers the purchase, sale, exchange and donation of Ikea furniture used by other people. Through the sale of these items, the Sellers will be awarded a 15% discount gift card to redeem at Ikea stores.
Although the method of sale is through a digital platform where the Ikea items uploaded by the sellers are displayed, at the time of the exchange, the seller and the buyer must meet to deliver the product. All Ikea furniture can be sold, except food, mattresses, appliances or any product that does not belong to the Swedish firm.
The pilot project has been carried out since last August in Madrid and Oslo (Norway) and, according to Ikea, the evaluation of the results extracted from this experience has been satisfactory. In total, the platform has received 119,778 visits since its launch.
