Euro fever is running high as fans count down the hours until England face Germany in the UEFA Women’s Euros final on Sunday.

The Lionesses have been sent plenty of good luck wishes, including from the men’s team. But for talkSPORT host Adrian Durham, he’s taken his support for England to a whole other level.

England are one game away from being crowned champions

On the eve of the big game, Durham was joined by fellow talkSPORT hosts Shebahn Aherne and Tony Cascarino on the Weekend Breakfast show.

Durham has been co-commentating for talkSPORT throughout the tournament, and his passion for the women’s game has shone through, helping to give the Lionesses the praise they truly deserve.

The trio were discussing England’s fate, and Durham soon brought up his favourite player – the Lionesses’ often unsung hero and forward Fran Kirby.

And he went on to reveal his admiration for Kirby had led him to make a pretty bold promise on the GameDay podcast – much to the shock of Aherne.

“Fran Kirby I think has been quietly brilliant in this tournament. Disclaimer here, I am an incredibly massive Fran Kirby fan as most people know,” he said.

“And actually I don’t know if you’re aware of this, but if England win I have promised to get a tattoo of Fran Kirby.”

After being left gobsmacked, Aherne laughed: “Whereabouts are you getting it, by the way?”

“Well, I can’t tell you that!” Durham responded.

Meanwhile, a video of Gareth Southgate and his England squad wishing the Lionesses luck was released on Sunday morning.

With the caption ‘Our England. Our family. Our time’, Southgate got the video underway, and the Three Lions boss made it clear this day should be all about the Lionesses.

“This really isn’t a moment for us [England Men’s] to be involved at all, but we did just want to take the time to wish you all the very best for the final,” he said.

“From myself and everybody involved with the men’s senior team, players and staff, good luck and we hope you can finish the job.”

Harry Kane and Declan Rice were among the players to take part in the video.

Meanwhile, Kyle Walker, as well as featuring in England’s video, posted a message for the Lionesses of his own on TikTok.

With his silver European Championships medal from 2022 around his neck, Walker said: “I just want to wish you all the best. Hopefully we can be changing this from a silver to a gold.

“We couldn’t be more proud of you, you’ve done a great job, keep going and it’s just one last push. All the best girls.”
