“Marcus Rashford is not a superstar and Manchester United should send him to Paris Saint-Germain in a cab.”
That’s the verdict from talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan after the England international was linked with a move to the Ligue 1 champions.
The Parisians’ interest in the 25-year-old isn’t new. Last summer, Paris Saint-Germain reportedly approached United about the availability of Rashford, but to no avail.
But with Rashford’s Old Trafford career slowly decaying and PSG in the market for another forward to bolster their attack, a move to the French capital could be what he needs to revive himself.
With opinion split on whether Rashford should stay and work through his tough spell at the club or move on to pastures new, Simon Jordan insists United shouldn’t wait to ship out their academy graduate – claiming he is not as good a player many think he is.
“The problem with Marcus Rashford is that he has been built up in the minds of many people that watch him, or don’t watch him, at a level that he’s not really at,” said the White and Jordan host.
“At that level he’s been judged at, his standards have diminished when really and truly he’s a good player capable of playing for Manchester United and England.
“But he’s not this superstar world-beater that people have alluded to and put him on a pedestal.

“If I’m Manchester United – given what I’ve seen from him and given the fact his agent is at it – I’d send him to PSG in a cab.”
United have struggled to get a number of their young guns producing consistently and Jordan believes Rashford has now fallen into the same boat, suggesting his time at the club is up.
Jordan said: “I think Marcus Rashford’s time at Manchester United is done.
“I think he needs a change of direction. I think his performances have been entirely based upon his outlook and attitude, with some of it being situations of the field – not necessarily meaning his charitable work.
“I think there is a change required. People like Marcus Rashford are beginning to fall into a camp that Memphis Depay and Anthony Martial have fallen into, which is bags and bags of ability but not enough delivery on a regular basis.
“United need better.”
PSG’s interest in Rashford is believed to be at an early stage with United thought to be relaxed over French champions’ interest in the star.
Rashford has entered the final 12 months of his contract but United have the option to trigger an extra year – something that would almost certainly rule PSG out of any approach this summer.
Should PSG turn their attentions elsewhere, AC Milan’s Portuguese star Rafael Leao has been shortlisted as a plan B for Christophe Galtier’s side.
