Romelu Lukaku is looking in great shape ahead of his second debut for Inter Milan.

The Belgian striker returned to the San Siro earlier this summer following an ill-fated second spell at Chelsea last term.

Lukaku is looking fit and ready for the new season

After scoring 64 goals in 95 appearances for Inter during his first spell at the club, Lukaku established himself as a real fan favourite in Antonio Conte’s title-winning side in the 2020/2021 season.

As a result, the Blues broke the bank to bring the forward to Stamford Bridge in a £97.5million deal.

Unfortunately for supporters in west London, his season back at the club ended with just 15 goals in 44 matches.

With a real point to prove upon his return to Italy, Lukaku has clearly been working hard to get himself ready for the big kick-off.

Inter start their season against Sassuolo on August 13 with the 29-year-old showing off his hugely impressive physical stature during an open training session.

Lukaku’s physique has been a big talking point during his career, with the striker admitting that he was perhaps too muscly during his time with Manchester United.

However based on these training pictures, it seems that the attacker is in peak condition to enjoy a really strong season this term, particularly after expressing regret at his decision to leave the club.

He explained at the club’s kit launch: “I left. It was a mistake.

“Now I am happy to be wearing this jersey, the team knows what we need to do, it’ll be a great challenge this season and we need to continue like this.

“I realised last season when I was in England, just how important Inter are in the world.

“The club’s profile is improving on an international scale, the social media approach is really important too and you can see how we act in the locker room, in training, our hugs and jokes.
