England will be looking to add more silverware when they take on Brazil in the inaugural women’s ‘Finalissima’ match.
The Lionesses made history on Sunday after ending 56 years of hurt by winning their first major tournament following their 2-1 win over Germany.
Goals from Ella Toone and Chloe Kelly secured a thrilling extra-time victory to bring football home for the first time since the 1966 World Cup.
As an added reward, England will now be involved in the inaugural women’s ‘Finalissima’ match later this year.
Sarina Wiegman’s side booked a date with Brazil, who secured glory on Sunday as well with their fourth straight Copa America title.
Brazil edged out Colombia 1-0 following a first-half penalty from Débora Cristiane de Oliveira, more commonly known as Debinha.

The match will be played in Europe, however governing body UEFA are yet to confirm the date and venue for the ‘Finalissima’, which is organised in cooperation with CONMEBOL.
The first men’s edition was won by Argentina at Wembley Stadium, with Lionel Messi captaining his side to a 3-0 win over Italy.
Goals by Lautaro Martinez, Angel Di Maria and Paulo Dybala ensured the Copa America champions were able to celebrate more trophy delight.
Yet despite taking place at a sold-out Wembley, the most attended football match of the year was England’s Euro triumph.
A record 87,192 people turned out to watch Chloe Kelly fulfill TWO childhood dreams by scoring the crucial goal against Germany.
Kelly was in the crowd as her beloved QPR sealed promotion to the Premier League in the most dramatic fashion – Zamora netting in the last minute to claim a 1-0 victory over Derby County in 2014.
Kelly was 16 at the time, but fast-forward just eight years and it was her celebrating a late winner at a sold-out Wembley, as she fired England to Women’s Euro glory.
And at the same end of the stadium, too!
“I said to my family, the one moment that I’ve been to Wembley and it’s been brilliant – it’s the Bobby Zamora moment with QPR,” Kelly said.
“I said to my family this morning, imagine we get a Bobby Zamora moment and it’s me… and now it’s happened!
“Bloody hell! Unbelievable! This is what dreams are made of!”
