Arsenal love playing Leicester and one more vs Foxes breaks record back to 1971

Arsenal’s fortunes have dramatically turned around from this time last season as they look to achieve their best start in 50 years!

The Gunners impressed in attack and kept a clean sheet at the back as they emerged victorious during their 2-0 win over Crystal Palace in the opening game of the 2022/23 campaign.

There’s an exciting buzz surrounding Arsenal this season

This is in stark contrast to how they opened last term, as they lost their opening three games without scoring for the first time ever.

Should Mikel Arteta’s side make it two wins out of two in their next match against Leicester then they will join a illustrious group.

Arsenal have only started a Premier League campaign with two wins on six occasions, but the current squad could go one better.

William Saliba attracted a great deal of praise for his performance at Selhurst Park and should he help the Gunners keep another clean sheet on route to a win it will mark the first time the club have claimed six points without conceding since 1971/72.

Arsenal’s new-look attack fronted by summer signing Gabriel Jesus will also be relishing the prospect of playing a shaky Leicester side.

The Foxes threw away a two-goal lead during their 2-2 draw at home with Brentford on Sunday but they have an even bigger problem keeping clean sheets away.

Arsenal have had the better of Leicester during their recent meetings

Arsenal have had the better of Leicester during their recent meetings

Brendan Rodgers’ men haven’t kept a clean sheet on the road against a current top-flight side since February 2021, a goalless draw at Wolves.

Even worse than that, Leicester boast a miserable record against Arsenal – winning just one of their last 25 away league matches.

The East-Midlands outfit have also lost 35 away top-flight matches against the Gunners, which is more than against any other side.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are looking to record four consecutive league victories over the Foxes for the first time in 22 years.

The north Londoners have won the last three Premier League meetings between the two sides, scoring seven goals and conceding just once.

Arsenal fans were largely dismissed for chanting ‘we’re top of the league’against Palace – another win and clean sheet next time out though will definitely make others sit up and notice…
